AsiaPOP Comicon 2017 was one of the biggest geek and pop culture events of last year. Not only did it feature celebrities, cosplayers, and other pop culture personalities, it also had an impressive array of booths for attendees to enjoy. Now, it’s been confirmed that APCC is back this 2018, and it’s happening on July 27 to 29!

After staging three successful events with impressive response from thousands of fans from all over the region, AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2018 will be back on July 27 to 29, happening at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

 

The event—organized by Universal Event Management, a subsidiary of Al Ahli Holding Group—will continue to be the ultimate celebration for fans of pop culture bringing together comic followers, artists, designers, animators, toy manufacturers, collectors, movie buffs, music lovers, cosplayers, gamers, technology buffs, fanatic geeks, fitness enthusiasts, beauty and fashion lovers providing immersive and inclusive experience for the visitors.

 

With its powerhouse lineup of guest celebrities, AsiaPOP Comicon Manila has garnered an international reputation, being graced by pop culture stars such as 2015’s Paul Bettany, Nathalie Emmanuel, Colton Haynes, and Adventure Time voiceoveJeremy Shada2016’s Millie Bobby Brown, Nicholas Hoult, Joe Dempsie, Claire Holt, and Hiroshi Kitadani; and last year’s Ray Fisher, Tyler Hoechlin, Gaku Space, and Shoji Kawamori, alongside Netflix’s stars Joe Keery, Noah Schnapp, Dacre Montgomery, and Sadie Sink.

 

The event has also become a creative haven for names such as Simone Legno (of tokidoki fame), Jason Freeny, Mike Zeck, Ken Lashley, David Mack, artgerm a.k.a. Stanley Lau; our very own Whilce Portacio, Leinil Yu, Stephen Segovia, Carlo Pagulayan, and Quiccs Maiquez; and even former Vice President of International Development & Brand Management of Marvel C.B. Cebulski (now Marvel’s editor in chief), who uses the event to search for Filipino talent for Marvel Comics.

 

International cosplay community CAGE, whose members include the likes of Allison Harvard, Vampy Bit Me, Pion Kim, Ani Mia, Riddle, Yugana Senshi Uon, Philip Odango, Haiden Hazard, and our very own Alodia Gosiengfiao, Myrtle Sarrosa, and Jin (behindinfinity), hold the annual CAGE competition within the event as well.

 

Entertainment companies have also set their sights on AsiaPOP Comicon Manila, with Marvel using the event to stage Hall M, an exclusive showcase of never-before-seen content which has, in the past, previewed such blockbusters as Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, and Thor: Ragnarok. Streaming and video-on-demand entertainment giant Netflix has also put up massive exhibits promoting their latest series and movies within the event venue, among others.

 

For its fourth installment, fans can expect a bigger convention—with more content, exhibits, activities, and guest announcements.
