Genshin Impact Update 5.5 to Launch on March 26, 2025

HoYoverse has recently announced the Update 5.5 for Genshin Impact. The livestream provided players a meaningful sneak peek at new content to expect, which will add new depth to the story. They have announced a new map, a new set of events, and new characters for the players to wish!

Update 5.5 – A New Map

The new update will bring our journey to The Great Volcano of Tollan. With a new map comes a whole new slew of saurians – cute creatures first introduced in the previous update – to play with and use to help with exploration. Be prepared as this new map will have a new set of puzzles to crack. Update 5.5 will also bring new puzzles and new places to explore, which also will mean primogem rewards! Players will also be meeting new tribes from Natlan, and of course two new characters: Varesa and Iansan.

Exploration in Genshin Impact has always been one of its great features, but remember, there will also be a lot of fighting. New Events

Genshin Version 5.5 will be having the “Tournament of Glory in Bloom” for its seasonal event. This will be a tournament-based game featuring Ifa and the rest of the playable Natlan cast. This event will contain battle challenges and adorable saurian minigames. Fret not! The players will not only receive primogems for doing the event; they will also receive Ororon, the 4-star Electro bow for free!

New Characters

As mentioned before, Update 5.5 will have players wishing for Varesa and Iansan. Varesa is a 5-star Electro Catalyst user who specializes in Plunging Attacks. Fierce in battle but laid-back when not fighting, she will be the main focus of the new tribe along with Iansan. The supposed “face” of Natlan as well as one of its six Heroes, Iansan is a 4-star Electro Polearm character that will be on the same banner with Varesa. With these new characters releasing the banner schedule will be as follows:

Phase 1: Varesa, Iansan, and Xianyun
Phase 2: Xilonen and Venti

HoYoverse has prepared a huge amount of content for the coming patch. Prepare your exploration hats and your thinking caps as you embark on the new map filled with new world quests and puzzles! Have fun at the battle-filled event “Tournament of Glory in Bloom”.

Update 5.5 also introduces new challenges and system optimizations. A new boss, the Lava Dragon Statue, awaits in the geothermal fissures of the volcano. As for optimizations, the Artifact leveling experience will be enhanced, as upgrading Artifacts defined with Sanctifying Elixirs guarantees at least two upgrades to the defined Minor Affixes.
