If you haven’t gotten over the hype of APCC’s amazing cosplays, then you can look forward to the explosive championships of the 2018 World Cosplay Summit! The festivities, which opened on July 28 in Laguna Ten Bosch in Aichi, Japan, will culminate at the Oasis 21 Galaxy Platform special stage in Nagoya.
What started as a meet up of international fans from four countries in 2003 has become one of the biggest cosplay events in the world, currently with 30 countries vying for the grand prize. And in case you’re wondering, the Philippines is well represented! Cosplayers Kai and Sergio Sta. Ana of Team Sekai will be battling it out against competitors from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Mexico, France, South Africa, and the Netherlands, among others.
Team China took home the bacon during last year’s summit, with a beautifully choreographed scene from Blood: The Last Vampire.
Here’s hoping that Team Philippines will be this year’s champions! For more details visit the World Cosplay Summit’s website and follow them on Facebook.
