Intel and CloudFone partner up with Globe for a triple-treat gadget plan

Intel gains another foothold in the mobile devices industry and local consumers, this time partnering with CloudFone and Globe to bring an affordable Intel-powered gadget to the market.
For the first time, a local tablet is being bundled with a postpaid data plan! That’s right, Globe’s mySUPERPLAN 499 offers the CloudFone Epic 7.0 and the CloudFone Excite 400dx for free. The plan comes with 100MB of data, calls, and texts to all networks, monthly access to productivity apps like Gmail, Yahoo mail, and Evernote. It also comes with 10GB of Globe Cloud storage.
The CloudFone Epic 7.0 will come with a case and a Bluetooth keyboard, so there’s no need to figure out how to keep everything together in one neat package that’s ready to go when you need to work. Here are some specs of the Epic:

Intel‘s involvement in the tablet market has been aggressive of late, and CloudFone’s Epic is the most recent in terms of partnership announcements. Philippine Country Manager Calum Chisholm shared his excitement at Intel’s growing involvement in the mobile device industry, and promised us more announcements regarding Intel-powered devices in the future.
The CloudFone Excite 400dx will serve as the WiFi hub for the tablet, in addition to being a smartphone. This promo seems to good to be true: you get two gadgets for only P499 a month!
