Pope Francis is visiting the Philippines in just a few days and Smart is offering free use of Twitter so more Pinoys can connect and share their Papal Visit experience with the world.
The Pope has become one of the most popular figures in social media, thanks to him taking to Twitter to connect with the faithful worldwide. This coming January 15-19, 2015, Pope Francis – popularly known as @Pontifex on Twitter – will be in the Philippines.
To coincide with this event, Smart and Twitter will give free and unlimited use of the social media app to all registered Smart users. To register to the service, just text DEARPOPE to 9999. Users are encouraged to use the hashtag #DearPopeFrancis when tweeting about their messages and aspirations to @Pontifex.
Users can use either the Twitter app or go to m.twitter.com to avail of the service and must maintain at least P1 load balance or be subscribed to any plan, promo, or bundle during the duration of the free Twitter promo.
For more information about the Pope’s itenerary, and to see your tweets online, visit DearPopeFrancis.ph. Remember, you must use the hashtag #DearPopeFrancis in order for your tweets to be captured live on the website. There will be a livestreaming of the Papal itenerary on the site as well.
