With PayMaya, sending money to anyone anywhere is convenient and easy! The Complete Guide to Sending Money Via PayMaya

Just recently, the Philippine government has declared an extension of the Enhanced Community Quarantine to April 30, 2020 to further flatten the COVID-19 pandemic curve in the country. Whether you’re a frontliner or not, this is a necessary step towards winning against the virus. It’s definitely an understatement when we say that this whole situation has disrupted our everyday lives, especially those who have been hit hard even before there was even COVID-19.

For most of us living away from family, staying at home has presented a lot of challenges, one of which is sending money. If you want to send money to your family outside of the city, using your bank’s home application is an option (plus it allows you to just stay at home), but what if the recipient doesn’t have the same bank as you? This is where financial apps like PayMaya come in. With PayMaya, sending money to anyone anywhere is convenient and easy! It doesn’t matter if your recipient has a PayMaya account, just a bank account, or neither, as there are four ways to send money to your loved ones through the app. You can even load money on your PayMaya account without going to the bank or 7Eleven kiosks.

Here’s the scenario: you have a banking app (BPI, for example) but your PayMaya account is empty. You need to send money to your family and they don't have a BPI account. Here’s what you can do:

PayMaya to PayMaya

Now that you have money in your PayMaya account, it’s time to send it to your recipient! To send to a PayMaya account, here’s what you do:

PayMaya to bank account

If your recipient doesn’t have a PayMaya account, you can send to their bank account via Instapay. Here’s how to do it:

PayMaya to Smart Padala

If your recipient neither has a PayMaya or a bank account, you can still send your help by transferring your funds to a Smart Padala agent. Just follow these simple steps:

1. Ask you recipient to check if the Smart Padala center near them is open and ask for their 16-digit account number.
2. Log in to your PayMaya account and click Send Money.
3. Enter the account number in the field provided, followed by the amount you wish to send to your recipient, then click “Continue”
4. Review and verify the transaction details, then click “Send”
5. To claim the money transfer, the recipient must proceed to the Smart Padala center you sent the funds to and present (1) valid ID, his/her mobile phone number, as well as the reference number of the transaction as proof.

PayMaya to Palawan Pawnshop

If there is no Smart Padala agent open near your recipient’s area, you can also send money to Palawan Pawnshop branches. Here’s how:

1. Use the official Palawan Pawnshop account number assigned to the area of your recipient:

– Luzon – 5577-5194-0831-6108
– Visayas – 5577-5194-0831-3105
– Mindanao – 5577-5194-0831-0101

Note that to be able to send money using these options, you must have an upgraded PayMaya account. This will also raise your monthly transaction limit to P100,000, from just P50,000 for non-upgraded accounts. Sending or receiving money via digital transfers has become more important nowadays. And remember, you can also use your PayMaya to pay for groceries and medicine online.

Hopefully this step-by-step guide is helpful, and can be quickly referred to especially for emergency situations. For those who live farther away from banks, going digital is the best option, as going out not only endangers you, but the people around you as well. The best contribution we can provide is to be #OneAgainstCOVID19 and stay at
home!
